Hello Class R! I hope you have had a lovely half term and a good break from work! The weather has been lovely. Very hot but beautiful! This term our topic is 'Under the Sea' and our book will be 'Rainbow Fish' By Marcus Pfister.
Literacy

Discuss our story. Ask the children what they can tell us about the story. Where is it set? What happens in our story. What is the environment like? Is it like ours? Similarities and differences? Who is the author of our story? Who is the illustrator of our story? |
Thursday |
Re- read rainbow fish story- was rainbow fish a good friend at the beginning? Why? What about at the end? What did he learn? Talk about how we must be kind to our friends and why. |
Activities;
Make stick puppets and retell the story to an adult.
Have a look at the vocabulary cards and use them in a sentence. (talking)
for example say the sentence- The octopus lives in a dark cave.
Try to choose new words which the children are unfamiliar with.

Topic
This week we would be learning about the damage rubbish can do if we don't put it in the bins or recycle it. Have a look at the power point below and the cards and talk to your child about what happens to the sea creatures if our rubbish is in the oceans.
