Today, a team of nine year 5s took part in an exciting dodgeball tournament competing with twenty other Nottingham schools at Nottingham Trent University. We played extremely well and everybody loved it! Can't wait until next year's competition!
National School Sports Week!
22nd - 26th June
Last week was National Schools Sports Week. For this special event we wanted to celebrate all the different PE and sports that take place here at Bentinck with the aim to inspire everyone to lead active healthy lifestyles.
We challenged you to 'Give ME 5!' and complete at least 5 hours of physical activity during the week. Did you do it?

The 2015 Jamie Wilson Cup
All of KS2 walked down to the Forest Recreation Ground last Friday for this years annual Jamie Wilson Football Competition.
As usual, there were a lot of exciting matches played and lots of goals scored.

Dan The Skipping Man!
Dan the Skipping Man visited Bentinck Primary School on 9- 10th September to teach us how much fun skipping can be!
Everyone enjoyed it so much fun that we’ve been skipping ever since!
Colwick Park Cross Country Event
On the 9th October children from year 5 and 6 took part in a special cross country event. Children competed in teams of 4 against other local schools. Children ran an amazing 1200m each! Everyone was fantastic but there were some very tired legs afterwards! Well done to everyone that took part!
A team of year 5s took part in a Basketball competition on the 20th November. Despite only having a small amount of practice, The Bentinck Basketball team did very well indeed. The children played in some very exciting matches and represented the school very well.
Everyone is looking forward to the next competition!
School Sport Ambassador Conference
Bentinck Primary School’s new Sports Ambassadors went on their first conference recently.
At the conference the children learnt about their new roles and responsibilities they will have at Bentinck. They also met Sports Ambassadors from other schools from around Nottingham. Highlight of the day was listening to and meeting a Real Olympic Athlete,
Ian Rose , who is former Paralympic silver medallist and World and European JudoChampion.
Remembering the WWI Christmas Truce
Bentinck Primary School wanted to remember the 100th anniversary of the Christmas Truce which happening during WWI.
To remember the event Mr Brannigan and Mr Bramley organised a special football tournament that the whole school took part in.
It was a huge success and a lot of fun. The overall winners were the Yellow Team. Congratulations!
Wollaton Park Cross Country Event
On the 14th January some year 6 children braved the cold and took up the challenge of Wollaton Park's Cross Country Running Event.
The children ran nearly 1500m in the mud with nearly 100 other children from different Nottingham Schools.
