Nursery

- Welcome to the Summer Term -

Were looking forward to some lovely warm weather this half term.  I hope that you're remembering to put sun cream on the children.  This term we are continuing to talk about different materials - metal, glass, wool and plastic.  We started by reading a favourite story - Jack and the Beanstalk.  The children have made some beanstalks for Jack to climb up.  We also used some Merino Wool and made some lovely abstract felt pictures.  We hope you like them.  Look out for them hanging up the in the Nursery.

We've had lots of fun playing with water outside.

- Three Little Pigs -

We have been reading the story of the Three Little Pigs.  We have been learning about straw, wood and bricks.  We have done rubbings outside to explore different textures.  We have also made some lovely houses using shapes.

Sunshine

We have been enjoying the sunshine this week!

Rainbow Fish

We began this term by reading the story of

'The Rainbow Fish' by Marcus Pfister.

We have been learning about sharing and being friendly.

We have made some beautiful fish and have made our Book Corner into a Rainbow Fish theme.

We did a beautiful Rainbow Fish Dance and the Rainbow Fish shared her scales (scarves) with the children.

World Book Day

On world Book Day we read the story of the Blue Balloon.

We had a lovely day and everyone dressed up.  Look at our fabulous costumes.

Handa's Surprise

This week at Nursery we have read the story of Handa's Surprise.

We have sorted the fruit into size order and have also looked at the fruit inside and seen the fruit turning brown.  We also made some fruit kebabs.

We have enjoyed playing with the Tap Tap and soap in the water.

We hope you enjoy our photos.

Play dough is fun in the Nursery - we like to make characters - can you recognise Rapunzel's long hair?

We have enjoyed painting on big paper.

We have been learning how to make patterns with red and yellow bears.

We had a great time singing 'Row Row Your Boat.'

As you can see we have already been very busy this term. Tasting porridge and playing with our friends.

A very nice Santa character is visiting the School.  See the photograph of the afternoon children with him.  The morning children went to see our lovely big Christmas tree in the school hall.

September 2015

Welcome to Bentinck Nursery

This term we will be looking at -

Ourselves, People who Help Us and Colours.

We have already been learning about what we see and what we hear.  There are lots of festivals to celebrate this term - Eid al-Adha, Harvest, Bonfire Night and Christmas.  Autumn is upon us and we will shortly be planting some bulbs. It won't be long till Goose Fair - with fabulous rides and the smell of hotdogs and candy floss filling the air.
