Welcome to Bentinck Primary & Nursery School. Together we make a difference. We Start back to school on Wednesday 20th April 2022

How we learn in Nursery

We believe that young children learn most effectively through active investigation, enquiry, first-hand experience, play and talk. This enables the child to become a lifelong learner who has positive characteristics of learning.

In Nursery we focus on the prime areas:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication and language development
  • Physical development.

The specific areas include essential skills and knowledge, these are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the world
  • Expressive arts and design

Please see the link below for more information about our Early Years Curriculum.

We have so much fun at Nursery!

The children had so much fun with the animals! They were all very brave stroking them and looking at them. The listened to all the information about the animals......I hope they told you all about it!

It has been Science Week!

We have been looking at many areas of our curriculum this week.

Growing - bubbles - big and small/ looking after plants/ animals - baby to adult / pasta - expanding when water was added.

Forces - magnets - what is magnetic and what is non-magnetic / water force - why does the boat come back up when it is pushed down in water?

We also made snow dough - we used 2 ingredients and glitter to make this!

We had so much fun doing all of this!
