Class 6 at IntoUniversity.
Day 1
Today, the children have enjoyed learning more about Nottingham's history, including the origins of the city, the castle, the tram system and Notts County FC-which we discovered is one of the oldest football clubs in the world!
In the afternoon, groups were given a secret mission: to start a research project based on a significant person from Nottingham's history. The children worked incredibly hard and look forward to sharing their new knowledge on Mary Potter, George Africanus, D.H.Lawrence and Florence Boot.
We had lots of fun, working in groups, to investigate electrical circuits and the effect of adding different components.
In maths last term, we were exploring shapes and their properties ,including nets. Here we are, trying to find all the possible nets of a cube and cuboid...!
Year 6 Autumn Investigation
The Children were challenged to use materials available to make a free- standing bridge, which would hold a weight for a minimum of 10 seconds.
Some of the bridges were so well constructed that we had to get extra weights ! The strongest bridge held 3 Kg ! Well done Abikhail !
