Wollaton Hall
Class 3, 4 and 5 enjoyed a lovely, sunny day at Wollaton Park. Everyone had a fantastic day and really enjoyed orienteering, feeding the ducks and spotting deer amongst other things! Urban Hockey
The children all enjoyed their first Urban Hockey lesson in the sunshine!
Outdoor Classroom Day
On Outdoor Classroom Day Class 4 took their art books onto the school field and sketched the world around them. The children sat in the shade of the big trees, ate strawberries and sketched away! There was a lovely breeze in the air and working outside was much cooler than the classroom on such a scorching hot day.
ROMAN TOPIC - CLASS 4
Class 4 have worked very hard producing work for their Roman Topic. They wrote newspaper reports, persuasive letters, designed Roman shields / helmets and created fantastic mosaics. The most fun was dressing up as Roman soldiers and looking scary! Take a look at the pictures we created using green screen technology. Class 4 would definitely have made fantastic Roman soldiers!
Great Orchestra Experiment - Albert Hall Nottingham
Class 4 enjoyed an afternoon at the Albert Hall in Nottingham. They got to showcase their baritone and trumpet playing skills alongside other Nottingham City school children and the Robin Hood Orchestra. The children were proud to be taking part and fascinated by the amazing orchestra. It was great to see over 400 school children playing a vast array of instruments so enthusiastically!
Mrs Chapman's VCOP group have spent time looking at unfamiliar words to help extend their vocabulary. The children practised their dictionary skills to look up these new words. They then spent time writing sentences that included the words. The activity was challenging but the children thought it was a fun!
World Book Day 2017
Class 4 enjoyed a fun trip to the library to celebrate the 20th World Book Day. The class wrote poetry, designed and created fantastic artwork and visited a local bookshop to choose a new book each. The children achieved the highest score in a book character quiz and won a fantastic bag of books to take back to school! Well done, great team effort!!

CLASS 4 CHRISTMAS MUSIC
In our music lesson this week Class 4 learnt to play jingle bells on the trumpets and baritones.
Class 4 enjoyed eating their school Christmas dinner. They loved pulling crackers and telling the jokes in the middle. Thank you to the lunchtime staff for the delicious food and Mrs Nunez for helping serve it.
As part of the Bentinck Creative Week Class 4 and Class R spent time together reading and sharing a love of books. Class 4 thoroughly enjoyed meeting and spending time with some of Bentinck's youngest and newest pupils. Everyone agreed it was a fun afternoon.
ROCKET LAUNCH INVESTIGATION
Everyone in Class 4 worked hard and enjoyed taking part in our class investigation day. Each child designed, made and launched their own rocket using recycled plastic bottles. The children launched the rockets across the school playground to see how far they could travel. 1st and 2nd prizes were awarded to the rockets that travelled the furthest distance. Well done to everyone who took part!
