Piñata Party!
To celebrate the end of term and the end of our Mexican topic we had to bash a big piñata with a massive pole! It was great fun.
Class 3 had a great day at the Lakeside Centre.
We took part in some drama on the Gingerbread Man story with Rachel and Kurt and looked at the wildlife in the park.
Creative Week
For our Performing Arts week Class 3 are looking at Mexico. We have done a comparison of Mexico and the UK, learnt the Mexican Hat dance, created our own dance moves to Latin American music, listened to different Mariachi music, learnt a Spanish counting song, learnt about the Day of the Dead festival and designed & painted skull masks.
Performance Poetry
We looked at different poems, free verse and rhyming, about playing and then wrote our own. We then chose our favourite lines to put together as a class poem.
Happy Christmas!
We had a great end to the term making stained glass Christmas trees, performing in our school production and dancing & having lots of fun at our party!
Leon and the Place Between
For Literacy this half term we have been reading Leon and the Place Between. We have visited it, performed magic tricks, learnt lots of new vocabulary, practised our grammar skills and next week we will be writing our descriptions - watch this space!
Friendship
As part of Anti-Bullying week we discussed why friendship is important and what makes a good friend. We wrote and decorated these acrostic poems. We hope you enjoy them.
It's all about washing a Woolly Mammoth!
Class 3 had a lot of fun learning new vocabulary and trying the words out on really messy toys!
Watch this space - they will be washing that mammoth very soon!
Stone Age Role Play
To help write our Stone Age stories we imagined that we had travelled back in time to the Stone Age. We weren't allowed to speak in our own language to each other and had to find different ways to communicate. It was lots of fun and really helped with our story writing.
