Good Afternoon Class 3,

What a pity that we have to isolate again! At least we got to go ice skating yesterday, you were all brilliant and so brave! laugh

I hope that you are all keeping well and please remember that if you have any coronavirus symptoms you must go and get a test. The school will be in touch with your parents as to when you can pick up a work pack to keep your brains busy while you are isolating. I have also made a little slide show of some photos of some of the things that you have done in class 3 this year, I hope you enjoy it!

Keep safe, keep washing your hands and keep smiling!

Love from,

Mrs Tibbitts

Good Morning Class 3!

Have you all had a good week at home? Today is the last day we need to isolate- Yay! Make sure you go outside and get some fresh air this weekend.

I hope you have finished your work packs or done as much as you can. Please bring the work packs back to school with you on Monday 22nd March when we all return to school.

Today is Red Nose Day! It's such a pity we can't all be in school together wearing our red noses and doing some fun activities. Here I am wearing my red nose at home...

Have a look at the slides below if you want to find out more about what Red Nose Day is and how the Comic Relief charity help people. There is also a Red Nose Day word search and word scramble that you might like to have a go at. If you designed your own red nose, bring your design to school on Monday, I'd love to see it.

Please make sure that you come to school in your PE kit on Monday as we will now be doing PE on Monday afternoons!

Keep safe, keep smiling and keep washing your hands!

Monday 15th March 2021

Good morning Class 3,

I hope that you've all had a nice weekend and aren't getting too bored with your isolation.

This Friday it will be Red Nose Day. Unfortunately we won't be back at school then but while you're a home, you could wear something red to celebrate! If you're not sure what Red Nose Day is about, you can read the information on the website and watch the video about Ethan in the links below.

Below you will also find some Red Nose Day recipes that you might like to try this week at home. I wonder if any of you can design your own red nose too?

I'd love to see your designs, bring them back to school with your work packs on Monday 22nd March at 9:15AM.

Remember to do a Maths and English activity from your work pack each day and email me if you have any questions.

Keep safe, keep smiling and keep washing your hands!

Friday 12th March 2021

Good Morning Class 3,

I hope that you are all keeping safe at home, remember to keep washing your hands to help keep your family at home safe. Our bubble will be isolating until Friday 19th March when we will all return to school. This means staying inside or in your garden and not visiting friends or family.

Please make sure you do the work in your emergency work pack. You should aim to do one maths and one english activity each day as well as going on TT rockstars, Numbots and Edshed to practise your spellings and maths skills. I will make sure to add some extra assignments for you on Edshed to keep you busy. You all took a reading book home, please read a little each day and tell someone at home what is happening in your book- who are the characters? How do the characters feel? What are the main events in the book?

You can email me with any questions or worries, I check my emails everyday and I'm here to help!

It is Mothers Day on Sunday so don't forget to give your Mum or carer the special thing we made in class for themwink

As an extra activity you could watch Newsround everyday (find the link below) and write down three things you learn from it each day- like we do in class.

I will post on our class page again on Monday morning.

Keep safe, keep smiling and keep washing your hands!

Love from,

Mrs Tibbitts

Monday 1st March 2021

 Good Morning Class 3,

Have you all enjoyed the lovely sunshine over the weekend? laugh  I have been out in my garden planting seeds! Today is the first day of March and it's starting to feel more like spring now. Have you seen any new flowers starting to grow in any parks or in your gardens?

This week will be our last week of home learning before we are all back in school on Monday 8th March. I hope that you are all excited, I am looking forward to seeing all of you. In your work pack this week you will find a PSHE activity that you will need to complete and bring back next Monday when you return to school. The activity allows you to share your feelings about how you have felt learning at home and how you are feeling about coming back to school. Try to be honest about how you feel, we will be doing some more work on this next week.

On Thursday this week (4th March) it is World Book Day! You have a letter about this in your work pack and a book token too. For your English work you may also have a World Book Day activity to complete. There are lots of activities that you can do to celebrate in the World Book Day 2021 link at the top of our class page. If you would like to dress up as a book character, make sure you send me a photo of you in your costume!

You could also have a go at the Book Bingo below. Can you tick off all the different things from books that you have read? If not, try looking in some books to find them. Don’t forget there are online books in the Book section at the top of our class page that you can use.

I hope you all enjoy your last week of home learning, make sure that you try your very best– you can still earn dots and house points for your work!

Keep smiling, keep safe and keep washing your hands!

Mrs Tibbitts

Monday 22nd February 2021

Good Morning Class 3!

Did you have a good half term? I hope you and your families are all well and had a good rest. I have been going on lots of long walks, baking and I even borrowed a ukulele from school so that I can learn how to play one too! What did you do in your half term holiday?

This week we will be continuing with our usual lessons which you can find in the English, Maths and Spellings & Phonics stars above and on your weekly remote learning timetable. You will need to collect your work pack from the school playground between 10:00-10:20 AM this morning and try your best to complete as much of the tasks as you can.

You’re all doing a great job so far and I’m really proud of the work that you are doing at home and school. Give yourselves a pat on the back!

I wonder if any of you have watched the news and seen that NASA(the American space agency) have managed to land their ‘Perseverance’ robot on Mars. This is the first time a robot has landed on Mars and it will be exploring the planet and sending photos of it back to Earth. It took the robot seven months to get to Mars- WOW!

There is a link below if you want to find out more. Perhaps you might like to write a story about planet Mars or design your own robot as an extra activity this week!

I hope you all enjoyed the snow over the last few days and that you and your families are safe and well. Did you complete any of the activities on the Snow Day Bingo board? If you took any photos, I’d love to see them! You can email me your snow pictures- you might even get some house points for it!

A decision has been made to keep this week’s work packs for next week. They will need to be collected on Monday 1st February at the usual time between 10:00am and 10:20am.

Thank you to the children who were able to access the online version of the worksheets and complete these at home this week for Maths and English. If you could not access these or are unable to print the worksheets, please don’t worry. You will receive the paper sheets in your pack next Monday and this will be your work to complete for the week. We will not be putting together another set of Maths and English activities next week.

For home learning for the rest of this week; please ensure you have completed every activity to the best of your ability in last week’s work pack. Remember to do the activities for science, art and history which can be accessed through the links on the week 3 timetable in the weekly remote leaning timetable star at the top of this page.

Please remember to use TT Rockstars, Numbots and EdShed every day to practise your spellings and number fluency. Thank you to those children who are doing this- I will be adding house points for you! These websites can be accessed through a smart phone, tablet, games console, laptop or PC so please log in and start practising if you haven’t already. If you have lost or forgotten your login then please email me and I will send it to you.

It is really important that you read every day too. If you need a new reading book, please email me by Friday and I will have a new reading book ready for you to take with your work pack on Monday. You must return the book you have at home.

For other learning activities, please click on the additional learning activities star at the top of the class page. You will find links to websites, ideas for learning and activities that do not require you to print anything. There are lots of great learning videos and games on BBC Bitesize and there are lessons for primary age children being broadcast every day during school time on CBBC.

You will still be able to access your Numbots, TT Rockstars and Ed Shed at home so this is a good opportunity to practise your maths and spelling skills.

In the meantime, have a go at some of the snow activities below. Make sure that you ask an adult first, wrap up warm and go careful... it's very slippery out side!

All you have to do is count up the birds you see next weekend and try to describe what type of bird they are. Have a look at the RSPB website below to find out more. For fun this week, you might like to learn to draw a bird or perhaps even make your own bird feeder for your outdoor space! Have a look at the instructions sheets below to help you.

Friday 16th September

We have been very busy this half term in Class 3.laugh

We have been settling back into the routine and lessons of school and getting to know our friends again. We have learnt about African art, designed and made African instruments as part of Black History Month, learnt about the different parts of plants and where we live in the UK.

We have been looking at a book called 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers and have written poems and letters in response to how it makes us feel. We received a letter from an alien called Bebop who wanted to know about planet Earth and where we are right now. Here are some of our replies to Bebop's letter:

We have also been learning to play the ukulele in music...

You have worked very hard this half term Class 3, enjoy a rest over half term and I will see you back at school on Monday 2nd November.

Good Afternoon Class 3!

We have now finished our first week back at school and it has been so lovely to see you all again! You have all worked hard to complete the activities in school and I hope you are enjoying the homework that I sent home with you from your bubbles this week, don't forget to bring it back next week so that I can see what you have done!

We have been thinking a lot about how it feels to be back at school. Today's bubble read 'The Colour Monster' By Anna Llenas, then did some work on the different types of feelings we might be having. We used a thesaurus to learn new words for different feelings. We also played some lego maths games, wow! Have a look at some of the photos below to see what we have been doing in Class 3 this week.

Have a nice weekend!

Love from Mrs Tibbitts

Welcome back Class 3! laugh

This week most of you will start school in small bubbles. Me and Mr Shaw have been working very hard and our new class is looking very smart and ready for you all to use next week.

Please make sure that you are at school on time at 9:15am on the day that your bubble is taking place and that your grown up wears a mask to drop you off and pick you up. You will need to come through the Alfreton Road gate and line up on the playground where I will be waiting for you! Make sure that you bring your coat and book bag, you will have a work booklet to take home to do on the days that you are at home. There are also some new activities in the star headings at the top of our class page that you can look at while you are at home.

We are very excited to have you back in school and hope that you are looking forward to it too.

See you next week!

Love from,

Mrs Tibbitts
