Bentinck is a Primary School. It is situated in the district of Hyson Green in the City of Nottingham. It caters for pupils between the ages of three and eleven. Built in 1880, the school has a long tradition of history in the Education Service in Nottingham. A fine historic building, it is a landmark for Nottingham Residents old and young, many of whom are past pupils.
The building is extremely well maintained and includes an ICT Suite, Science Room, carpeted hall and Office Suite. Outside there is a large playground, our own football pitch and a community multi-use games area. Children enjoy their midday meal in our dining room.
Our Foundation Classes accommodate children between the ages of three and five years old.
Our Key Stage 1 classes are for pupils aged between five and seven years.
Key Stage 2 children remain at Bentinck until they are eleven years old. The children then transfer to a number of different Secondary Schools at the end of Year 6.
Our school has a very high turnover of pupils. Many children join the school from abroad and may speak no English when they arrive.
At Bentinck we provide a disciplined and stimulating environment for all children to learn and succeed. We all believe that the staff, parents and Governors should work together to make children’s learning experience happy, successful and exciting. Emphasis is placed on the highest standards of work and conduct in an atmosphere of trust.
If you are considering admitting your child to Bentinck Primary & Nursery School, it is advisable that you visit us and look around the school. Once your child has started at Bentinck, you are always very welcome to come into school. We ask you to telephone our Office before you arrive so that we can arrange for someone to be available to help you and answer any questions that you may wish to ask.
