We looked at different poems, free verse and rhyming, about playing and then wrote our own. We then chose our favourite lines to put together as a class poem.

The Iron Man has been at Bentinck since January! Oh dear, Class 3 look rather scared!

Happy Christmas!

We had a great end to the term making stained glass Christmas trees, performing in our school production and dancing & having lots of fun at our party!

We had a visit from Father Christmas (and Mr Shaw got a present too!)

Cheeky Elves and ‘Parents’ pretending to be Santa!

Leon and the Place Between

For Literacy this half term we have been reading Leon and the Place Between. We have visited it, performed magic tricks, learnt lots of new vocabulary, practised our grammar skills and next week we will be writing our descriptions - watch this space!

Friendship

As part of Anti-Bullying week we discussed why friendship is important and what makes a good friend. We wrote and decorated these acrostic poems. We hope you enjoy them.

It's all about washing a Woolly Mammoth!

Class 3 had a lot of fun learning new vocabulary and trying the words out on really messy toys!

Watch this space - they will be washing that mammoth very soon!

We got a bit wet but it was fun!

We washed our mammoth and practised our new verbs.

Everyone worked hard to write clear instructions, with interesting verbs and to include humorous comments. Here are some of Class 3's instructions (various abilities)

Stone Age Role Play

To help write our Stone Age stories we imagined that we had travelled back in time to the Stone Age. We weren't allowed to speak in our own language to each other and had to find different ways to communicate. It was lots of fun and really helped with our story writing.

Meeting a Stone Age community!
