Our topic for this half term is growing. Keep an eye out for our fantastic homework. We will be looking at how plants and people grow. There'll also be an experiment... Fingers crossed that it will work!
Our topic for this half term is space! We will be learning a lot about the different planets in our solar system and following what Tim Peake does on the International Space Station.
Below you can see some examples of our space homework, as well as some of the work we've done in class (drawing planets, making space rockets from shapes).
Some of the children in class 1 managed to come to school everyday! To celebrate this they have got their 100% attendance badges. Well done!
As part of our work for Anti-Bullying Week we talked about what bullying is and ways that you can be a good friend. We had lots of things to say! We put all of our ideas in a poem, and decorated it with some pictures. Soon we will put up a video of the whole class performing our poem...
You might also have seen our 'NO!' stickers - these were to remind everyone to say 'NO!' to bullying!
To raise money for Children in Need we wore different clothes to school. There were princesses, superheroes, pyjamas and lots of other great outfits.
We also had a competition to design a new eye patch for Pudsey Bear. We think you'll agree that this sparkly number is quite fantastic!
We tried our Diwali sweets and they were really yummy!
We all worked together to make some coconut squares to celebrate Diwali. We hope you have a wonderful Diwali if you are celebrating. We will show you some pictures of when we tried the coconut squares later!
We all loved going on the rides and winning toys at Goose Fair. So much so that we wrote some poems about it. We're sure you'll agree that they are pretty good. We put them all together in a book that will be hanging in our classroom all year. Have a read next time you come to visit us.
In Class 1 we are always trying our best, and trying to do as many things as we can by ourselves. Here you can see us enjoying independent maths activities.
You can see where we come from, or where our families come from. It really is quite impressive.
When we want to read some of our lovely books, we can sit in our comfortable reading corner so we really enjoy it! There's fairy lights to make it even more special!
To start our year in Class 1 we have all filled in our passport. These tell you lots of information about us - including our favourite foods and some of the countries that we would like to visit.
